As part of the initiatives under ‘Mission Marg Darshan’, IISER Thiruvananthapuram in coordination with the local panchayats of the adopted villages, has initiated a programme to establish Community E-Learning Centre in each adopted village, where in e-learning devices will be installed at a common place so that the deprived students who don’t have access to the e-learning platforms can become a part of the online educational programme implemented by the Government of Kerala.
The first Community E-Learning Centre under the programme has been established today (10 June 2020) at Karimbinkala Tribal Settlement at Chettachal in Vithura Panchayath.
Shri. V. K. Madhu, Thiruvananthapuram Zilla Panchayat president inaugurated the community learning center by streaming Victors channel for the students. Prof. M P Rajan Nodal officer Unnat Bharat Abhiyan, Vithura Panchayat president Smt. Krishnakumari, Shri. Manoj Kumar Officer in charge, UBA Cell, IISER Thiruvananthapuram, Shri. Shahul Khan, Educational Standing Committee Chairman, Vithura Panchayath, Dr. Hemalatha Medical officer, IISER THiurvananthapuram and Program Manager Vishnu addressed the gathering of students, parents and tribal community of Karimbinkala area.
Prof. M P Rajan Nodal officer Unnat Bharat Abhiyan has intimated that five such Community E-Learning Centres are planning to be established in the first phase at various places in the adopted villages.
